
Kathmandu, 07 October (HS): A newly constructed school building at Panchayati Secondary School in Sundarharaicha Municipality of Nepal’s Morang district has been inaugurated with financial assistance from the Government of India. The building was jointly inaugurated by Koshi Province Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki, First Secretary at the Embassy of India in Nepal Narayan Singh, and Sundarharaicha Municipality Mayor Kedar Prasad Guragain.
According to the Embassy of India, the school building was constructed under the High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) framework. The embassy said that since the launch of the HICDP initiative, the Government of India has undertaken a total of 605 projects across various sectors, covering all seven provinces and 74 districts of Nepal. Of these, 103 projects are located in Koshi Province, while 17 projects are being implemented in Morang district alone.
India has also provided 150 ambulances and 62 school buses to Koshi Province. Morang district has received 21 ambulances and 17 school buses under this assistance.
According to the Indian Embassy, the High Impact Community Development Project aims to develop infrastructure in priority areas while promoting development and prosperity.
Koshi Province Chief Minister Karki said the new infrastructure constructed with support from the Government of India would help create a better learning environment for students and teachers in Sundarharaicha Municipality of Morang.
