
Islamabad, 06 October (H.S.): United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres arrived in Islamabad on Tuesday for a three-day official visit to Pakistan. Guterres will remain in Pakistan from October 6 to 8 at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. According to a post by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on X, Acting Foreign Secretary Ambassador Nabeel Munir received the UN chief upon his arrival.
According to a report by The News, during his visit, Guterres will meet President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir. Guterres will also visit the headquarters of the United Nations Military Observer Group.
The Foreign Office said the visit reflects Pakistan’s continued commitment to multilateralism.
