Dhaka, 06 October (H.S.): Government offices in Bangladesh will remain closed from October 20 to 22 on account of the Durga Puja holiday. Combined with the weekend on October 23 and 24, the holidays will provide government employees with a total of five consecutive days off. The government announced the decision on Monday.

According to a report by The Dhaka Tribune, a notice issued in this regard stated that the dates of the general and other holidays declared for Durga Puja have been revised. Government offices will remain open on Saturday, October 17, while October 20, 21 and 22 will be observed as holidays.

October 23 and 24 fall on Friday and Saturday, respectively. This means government employees will have a continuous five-day holiday from October 20 to 24.

Meanwhile, the government has also decided to declare November 7 a public holiday every year as National Revolution and Solidarity Day.
