MOSCOW, October 5 (HS/RIA Novosti) - Satellite communication systems like Starlink are increasingly being used to interfere in the internal affairs of countries, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

Iran had previously provided evidence of the use of illegally imported Starlink terminals to coordinate protests in the country in 2022, the diplomat said, adding that more than 10 states have since suffered from the illegal use of such systems.

The use of satellite communication systems by neutral countries to interfere in the internal affairs of states is becoming an increasingly large‑scale threat, Zakharova said.
