UNITED NATIONS, October 31 (HS/RIA Novosti) - Russia at the United Nations regularly draws attention to the fact that terrorists in Africa receive assistance from outside, Russian Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Anna Evstigneeva told RIA Novosti.

The Sudanese authorities have irrefutable evidence of the participation of the Ukrainian military in the armed conflict on the side of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) against the legitimate army, Sudanese Foreign Minister Mohi El-Din Salem told RIA Novosti on Friday. He also said that Ukrainian instructors are training fighters from the RSF to use drones to carry out strikes against civilian targets.

When discussing the issues facing West Africa and the Sahel in the UN Security Council, we regularly draw attention to the fact that the terrorist threat in the region has largely been shaped by external forces, Evstigneeva said.

She also noted that France and Ukraine are currently working with terrorist groups in the Sahel.

Thanks to their assistance, terrorists from the Jamaa Nusrat ul-Islam wa al-Muslimin [a terrorist organization banned in Russia] and the Azawad Liberation Front carried out an attack on Bamako and the largest cities of Mali in April. The UN Security Council’s press statement of May 15 characterizes these attacks as terrorist, the diplomat added.
