MOSCOW, October 30 (HS/RIA Novosti) - Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with Kenyan President William Ruto, who attended the third Russia–Africa Summit, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported on Thursday.

During the summit, Putin noted that Russia is genuinely interested in further developing and deepening trade, economic, and humanitarian cooperation with all African nations.

As the Kenyan Foreign Ministry previously indicated, the country hopes to use the third Russia–Africa Summit to expand access for its products to the Russian market and attract investment from Russia.

The third Russia–Africa Summit and the associated Economic and Humanitarian Forum are taking place in Moscow on October 28–29. RIA Novosti is a media partner for the summit and the forum.

Putin said exports of Russian agricultural products to Kenya have increased, and Russia serves as a major supplier of fertilizers.

Kenya would like to discuss the possibility of producing fertilizers on its territory with the participation of Russian companies, President Ruto said at the meeting with Putin.
