Putin Calls for Considering End to Conflicts to Stabilize Gas Market

MOSCOW, October 27 (HS/RIA Novosti) - It is necessary to consider ending conflicts and lifting sanctions in order to stabilize the situation in the gas market, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday.

We need to think about ending ongoing conflicts and lifting sanctions regimes. As a rule, all sanctions are used as a tool for unfair competition. Ultimately, this leads to severe consequences for everyone, first and foremost for those who impose these sanctions, Putin said at the summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, commenting on the rise in global gas prices.

The rise in spot gas prices does not make producers happy, the Russian president said, adding that stability in the global market is more important.

The green agenda is a very serious issue. Which gas producers are against the green agenda? We are all in favor of it. The only point is to ensure that this green agenda is not misused for political purposes, that all parties act responsibly and professionally, and that the capabilities of the gas industry are taken into account, both during the transition period and in the future, Putin added.
