BEIRUT, October 27 (HS/RIA Novosti) - Jordan did not coordinate with the Syrian authorities the airstrikes on southern Syria that killed and injured civilians, Syrian state news agency SANA reported on Tuesday, citing the government.

On Monday, the Jordanian armed forces announced a military operation against terrorist groups in southern Syria in response to the attack on a church in Al-Karak province last Friday. Later in the day, the Daraa Governorate health department said five civilians, including women and children, were killed in Jordanian airstrikes on the province

The Syrian government announced the opening of an investigation into the circumstances of the strikes, the report said. Damascus also announced the establishment of communication channels with the Jordanian side to discuss the incident, emphasizing the need to coordinate any military actions in border areas, taking into account Syrian sovereignty and the security of both countries, the report added.
