MOSCOW, October 25 (Hs/RIA Novosti) - A potential meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and US President Donald Trump could become a significant event at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in China, the Russian Foreign Ministry's ambassador-at-large for G20 and APEC, Marat Berdyev, said on Sunday.
Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said earlier in the day that preparations for a meeting between the three leaders on the sidelines of the summit are already underway.
Trilateral talks between the leaders of Russia, China, and the United States could become an important element of the APEC leaders' meeting, Berdyev wrote on Telegram.
The APEC summit is set to take place in Shenzhen, China, on November 18–19.
