London, 21 October (H.S.): King Charles III has praised Oman’s peace efforts amid the ongoing crisis in the Middle East, commending the country’s role in promoting stability and dialogue in the region. He made the remarks during a banquet hosted at Windsor Castle in honour of Oman’s Sultan Haitham bin Tariq.
The British monarch described Oman’s efforts to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz as commendable. The visit marks the first state visit to Britain by an Omani ruler in nearly half a century.
According to a report by Al Jazeera, King Charles said Muscat’s efforts to promote peace and its constructive neutrality in the Gulf region extended far beyond the issue of the Strait of Hormuz and deserved considerable respect.
Addressing approximately 160 guests at the banquet, the King said, “At a time when conflict has returned to this region in the most tragic way, I would particularly like to recognise Oman’s continued commitment to acting as a trusted intermediary between all parties.”
