ISTRA, Moscow Region, October 2 (HS) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his efforts to bring the Ukraine conflict to an end through peaceful means, saying the Indian leader has very good ideas aimed at finding mutually acceptable solutions.

Speaking at the plenary session of the 23rd Valdai Discussion Club meeting, Putin said Modi consistently raises the issue of ending the conflict despite the close and friendly relations between India and Russia.

He has an avid interest and very good ideas aimed at finding mutually acceptable solutions, Putin said, adding that Modi maintains a neutral position but is interested in bringing the conflict to an end.

Putin also expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for his desire to help end the conflict peacefully and as soon as possible.
