
Quetta, 02 October (H.S.): Reports have emerged of increased Pakistani military activity in Balochistan’s Kachhi and Kech districts. According to local sources, military operations in Kachhi district continued for a second consecutive day, while the movement of troops increased in the mountainous areas of the Tump region in Kech district.
The Balochistan-based online news network The Balochistan Post, citing local sources, reported that the Pakistani military was conducting operations in Kachhi, Dhadar and surrounding areas. The reports claimed that gunship helicopters and drones were being used during the operations and that sounds of gunfire had been heard in some areas. However, authorities have not released any official information regarding the nature of the operations or possible casualties.
Sources claimed that a day earlier, clashes had taken place between Pakistani security forces and armed men in parts of Kachhi district. However, the claim could not be independently verified. Meanwhile, increased military activity was also reported around the villages of Gomazi, Dezig, Mar and Kir in the Tump area of Kech district. According to local residents, the movement of troops, along with armoured vehicles and tanks, has increased in the area.
An increased military presence has also reportedly been observed in the mountainous areas around Gomazi. Local sources claimed that military helicopters had been seen flying and conducting patrols over the Mazan Band mountain range. They also reported continued drone activity in the area.
Local residents have expressed concern over the growing military presence and aerial surveillance. However, there has so far been no official information regarding casualties or an armed clash in the Tump area. Pakistani military authorities have also not issued any official statement regarding the reported activity in Tump. Therefore, there has been no confirmation of any formal military operation in the area so far.
