MOSCOW, October 19 (HS/RIA Novosti) - Vladimir Zelensky’s attacks on US President Donald Trump are proving counterproductive, Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) CEO Kirill Dmitriev, who is also the special presidential representative for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, said.
Zelensky’s persistent attacks on President Trump before the midterms are too obvious and backfiring. If only Zelensky spent a portion of his interview time genuinely working on peace, Dmitriev said on X.
On Sunday, Trump noted that Zelensky, despite all the funding provided by Europe and the support previously given by former US President Joe Biden, had no desire to see an end to the conflict in Ukraine. The US leader has previously expressed repeated frustration with Zelensky’s unwillingness to pursue peace agreements and his refusal to halt strikes on Russian oil refineries. Trump has also suggested that Ukraine needs a new leader capable of reaching an agreement with Russia.
