Some 3,000 Police Officers Demonstrated in Paris Amid Schoolkids' Protests – Reports

MOSCOW, October 16 (HS/RIA Novosti) - Some 3,000 French police officers held a demonstration in Paris, expressing dissatisfaction with their working conditions and a lack of state support amid ongoing protests by high school students, BFMTV reported.

Reda Belhaj, a spokesman for the Unite police union in the Ile-de-France region, told the channel that officers do not feel supported and that their public image is being tarnished.

My colleagues have had enough; our image is currently being tarnished, and we don't feel any support, he said.

He also pointed out that 937 law enforcement officers had been injured during the protests taking place across the country, emphasizing that this is something you wouldn't see in any other country.

For several weeks, high school students in France have been staging widespread protests, citing issues such as overloaded academic schedules, a shortage of teachers, and other problems within the education system. Some of these demonstrations have been accompanied by unrest.
