Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Using Palaces With Bunkers Due to Houthi Attacks - Reports

MOSCOW, October 13 (HS/RIA Novosti) - Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is using palaces equipped with bunkers amid attacks by Yemen's Ansar Allah movement, also known as the Houthis, on Riyadh, The Wall Street Journal newspaper reported, citing sources.

The crown prince last appeared in public on October 6, when he donated blood to support a blood donation program, the report said on Monday.

Saudi Arabian authorities are experiencing difficulties using air defense systems across the vast territory of the country, the report noted. As a result, they are moving air defense batteries in an attempt to protect palaces and energy infrastructure, the report read.

According to the report, the country has turned to its military ally Pakistan for assistance and is scouring the world for air defense systems.

In addition, Riyadh is increasingly analyzing the possibility of a diplomatic solution to the conflict with the Houthis, the report said.

The Houthis have been attacking Saudi oil facilities since military clashes between the movement and the Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces resumed in mid-July after a four-year pause.

Over the past days, the international airport in Riyadh was attacked on multiple occasions. According to the Saudi Civil Aviation Authority' data, 12 people were killed and 309 more injured as a result of an attack on October 10, while the strike on October 11 killed one person and injured 11. Two passenger terminals were struck, with the attack causing a fire.
