MOSCOW, October 12 (HS/RIA Novosti) - For Moscow it is important that someone in Kiev shows political will to recognize realities on the ground, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told RIA Novosti.

On Saturday, US President Donald Trump said that Vladimir Zelensky had many opportunities to settle the Ukraine conflict but refused to do so. Therefore, he said, Ukraine needs a new leader who can reach an agreement with Russia. Trump believes that Zelensky should hold elections in Ukraine.

It is important to us that someone on the part of the Kiev regime demonstrates the political will to recognize the realities on the ground and move towards a peaceful settlement, Peskov said.
