The Nepal Army has rescued 49 people from flood-hit areas along the Budhi Gandaki River and evacuated them to safer locations. The army announced the details in a statement issued on Sunday afternoon.
According to the Nepal Army, four helicopters, including an MI-17, along with military personnel deployed by land, have been mobilised for relief and rescue operations following the flooding of the Budhi Gandaki River on October 11.
So far, six people have been rescued from Jagat to Gorkha, while four people, including an infant, were evacuated from Filim to Hulchuk. Another 15 people, including two children and a foreign national, were rescued from Yaru to Hulchuk.
In addition, one person was evacuated from Hulchuk to Filim, two people from Namrung to Filim, nine people from Nyakfedi to Nyakdanda, and 12 people from Payu to Salleri (Nayabasti).
The Nepal Army stated that search and rescue operations were continuing in the affected areas in coordination with other security agencies and relevant stakeholders.
