UNITED NATIONS, October 1 (HS/RIA Novosti) - Belarus is ready to host a round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

Our mediation efforts remain in place, and we are ready, if Russia and Ukraine are willing, to host a round of talks or organize an event in Belarus that would bring these peace negotiations closer to fruition or conclude them. We would be delighted. However, the European Union has no interest in this, Ryzhenkov said in an interview on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

Belarus hosted negotiations between Russian and Ukrainian delegations shortly after the start of the special military operation. Currently, exchanges of prisoners of war take place via Belarus.
