Austin, Texas, 09 January (H.S.): Elon Musk, the pioneering force driving Tesla, SpaceX, and X, shared on Thursday, the captivating origins of his twins' names, highlighting a striking Indian scientific tie through his son Strider Sekhar.

In response to a post by the X account Tesla Owners Silicon Valley, which displayed a tender photo of Musk with his children, he explained that Strider references Aragorn, the shadowy ranger from J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, and Sekhar salutes Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar, the renowned Indian-American astrophysicist who earned the 1983 Nobel Prize in Physics for his pioneering studies on stellar structures and evolution.

Strider Sekhar and twin sister Comet Azure, named after the ultimate spell in Elden Ring, were born in November 2021 through IVF to Musk and Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis, a Yale-trained AI and economics expert.

Zilis's background, featuring her Punjabi Indian mother Sharda Zilis and Canadian father, adds cultural depth to the selection, echoing Musk's earlier nods to this heritage .The family later grew with daughter Arcadia's birth on February 28, 2024, and son Seldon Lycurgus in March 2025, part of Musk's 14 children across relationships, each name blending lore, science, and vision .

Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar, born October 19, 1910, in Lahore, revolutionized astrophysics at Cambridge and the University of Chicago with the Chandrasekhar Limit—the 1.4 solar mass threshold where white dwarfs collapse into neutron stars or black holes .

Honored with India's Padma Vibhushan in 1964 and the U.S. National Medal of Science in 1966, his influence lives on in NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory .

Musk's X post—Me with my son, Strider Sekhar (named after Aragorn & great Indian physicist Chandrasekhar) and daughter, Comet Azure, named after the most powerful spell in Elden Ring—ignited viral acclaim in India, merging tech innovation with scientific legacy.
