New Delhi, 07 January (H.S.): Delhi Cabinet ministers penned a letter to the Assembly Speaker on Wednesday demanding the immediate cancellation of Leader of Opposition Atishi's membership and the registration of criminal proceedings against her for allegedly insulting Sikh Gurus.

Cabinet Ministers Parvesh Sahib Singh and Manjinder Singh Sirsa addressed journalists within the Delhi Assembly premises that day, revealing the contents of the missive and underscoring their resolve. They asserted that an individual guilty of disrespecting Sikh Gurus belongs not in the legislative chamber but behind bars at Tihar Jail.

BJP legislators staged protests both inside and outside the Delhi Assembly on the same day, amplifying demands for accountability amid heightened political tensions. This escalation follows prior disruptions in the House, where accusations of Atishi's derogatory remarks during a tribute to Guru Tegh Bahadur ignited outrage among Sikh community representatives and opposition ranks.
