New Delhi, 03 January (H.S.): A Delhi court remanded Dr Bilal Naseer Malla, a pivotal accused in the November 10, 2025, Red Fort car bomb blast case, to 13 days of judicial custody until January 16 on Saturday. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) produced Malla before Patiala House District Court upon expiry of his prior eight-day agency custody, granted on December 26, amid stringent security protocols that barred media from proceedings.

The suicide bombing near Red Fort Metro Station and Chandni Chowk claimed 15 lives, including bomber Dr Umar Un Nabi, an assistant professor at Al-Falah University in Faridabad, injuring dozens in a Hyundai i20 laden with ammonium nitrate fuel oil (ANFO). Registered as RC-21/2025/NIA/DLI, the probe uncovers a sophisticated white-collar terror module involving educated professionals linked to handlers like Turkiye-based Ukasa.

A Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir resident and son of a serving J&K Police officer, Malla—previously at Al-Falah University—was arrested by NIA on December 9 as the eighth accused. Investigators allege he harbored Umar, provided logistical aid, and destroyed evidence, with voice samples and handwriting authenticated during custody.

Custody extensions followed: initial remand December 9; four days December 15; seven days December 19; further periods through December 26's eight-day grant.

Other Arrests and Ongoing InvestigationEight arrests total include doctors Muzammil Ganai (alias Shakeel), Adeel Rather, Shaheena Saeed; preacher Maulvi Irfan Ahmed Wagay; Amir Rashid Ali (vehicle facilitator); Soyab (logistics); and Jasir Bilal Wani.

NIA coordinates with Delhi, J&K, Haryana, and UP Police, pursuing funding trails, networks, and Turkiye links. Recent proceedings before Principal Sessions Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna reflect intensified scrutiny.
