Guwahati, 20 January (HS): A daring armed robbery in a filmy style was reported from Ganeshpara area of Guwahati, where miscreants carried out a brazen loot by threatening a woman at gunpoint in the absence of her husband.

According to the local sources, the incident occurred last night when the woman was alone at home. The robbers allegedly barged into the house, pointed a pistol at her face and looted cash and valuables before fleeing the scene. The entire incident unfolded within a short span of time, leaving the victim traumatised.

The shocking act of robbery was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the area. The footage, which has since surfaced, shows the miscreants executing the crime in a planned and fearless manner, triggering panic among local residents.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are examining the CCTV footage to identify and trace the accused. Security has been tightened in the locality and residents have been urged to remain vigilant as efforts are underway to nab the culprits at the earliest.
