Banda,
02 Jan (HS): An 18-year-old lady was detained on Friday for reportedly
murdering a middle-aged man with a sharp-edged instrument after he attempted to
sexually attack her in Uttar Pradesh's Banda district. The event occurred
Thursday eve in Murwal village.
According
to Station House Officer (SHO) Rajendra Singh Rajawat, Sukhraj Prajapati (50)
was found dead in a residence with fatal head injuries caused by a sharp-edged
weapon. Based
on a complaint filed by the victim's family members, police opened a murder
investigation and detained the lady later in night, along with the weapon of
crime, a 'farsa', according to the SHO.
According
to police, the lady whacked Sukhraj in the forehead with an axe stored in the
residence, causing him to collapse. The axe strike caused both of his eyeballs
to burst out. Following that, she allegedly beat him to death with a stick. The
lady then went to the police station, carrying the murder weapon, and confessed
to the killing. Police have detained and interrogated the woman.
During
questioning, the accused informed police that the man had entered her home and
attempted to sexually abuse her. In an attempt to protect herself, she hit him
with the 'farsa' stored in the house, resulting in his death, he said. Police
said the accused will appear in court later on Friday.
