
Bhubaneswar, 02 January (H.S.): The death anniversary of former Odisha Chief Minister Harekrushna Mahatab was observed with solemnity at the Odisha Assembly premises on Friday. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi paid floral tributes to Mahatab’s statue installed in the Assembly premises.
Recalling Mahatab’s historic contribution to the making of modern Odisha, the Chief Minister said he was a symbol of political foresight, administrative efficiency, and cultural renaissance. From the establishment of the new state capital Bhubaneswar to the construction of the Hirakud Dam, Mahatab’s epoch-making decisions continue to inspire Odisha’s development journey.
The Chief Minister said the state government remains committed to building a prosperous and developed Odisha by following the path shown by Harekrushna Mahatab.
On the occasion, Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, Deputy Speaker Bhawani Shankar Bhoi, Chief Whip of the ruling party Saroj Pradhan, Congress Legislature Party Leader Ramachandra Kadam, and several other legislators were present.
