Bhubaneswar, 02 January (H.S.) : Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan on Friday expressed serious concern over reports of social media reels being filmed inside Lok Seva Bhawan, the state’s principal administrative headquarters, and made it clear that such activities will not be tolerated.

Stating that Lok Seva Bhawan is meant exclusively for governance and official functioning, the minister said there is no scope for filming reels within the premises, whether by employees or visitors.

“Lok Seva Bhawan exists to ensure the smooth functioning of administration and the effective delivery of government policies, notices and directives to the public. It is not a place for filming any kind of reels,” Harichandan said.

The Law Minister said the Home Department would issue clear instructions to security personnel deployed at Lok Seva Bhawan to strictly prevent such activities. He added that if any violations are detected, immediate action would be taken jointly by security staff and the police.

“Whether it is an employee or an outsider, filming reels inside Lok Seva Bhawan is inappropriate. The Home Department will alert the security staff, and police action will also be taken if required,” he said.

Emphasising the importance of maintaining dignity, discipline and security, Harichandan noted that Lok Seva Bhawan houses multiple key departments and handles sensitive administrative work.

The minister also indicated that the Home Department is considering framing formal guidelines to regulate conduct and activities within the Lok Seva Bhawan premises, including restrictions on filming for non-official purposes.
