Kolkata, 02 January (H.S.): The West Bengal BJP on Friday shared a post on the social media platform X, making serious allegations regarding attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh and West Bengal. The party claimed that the Hindu community is not receiving adequate protection in Bangladesh and that the situation in West Bengal is also alarming.
According to the BJP's post, on December 26, 2025, five Hindu homes were set on fire in West Dumuritla village of Pirojpur Sadar district in Bangladesh. The following day, December 27, 2025, Hindu homes were allegedly burned down in Dumuria village of Pirojpur district. The party also mentioned an incident on April 12, 2025, where Hindu homes were set ablaze in Betbona village of Murshidabad district in West Bengal.
Furthermore, the BJP alleged that on June 16, 2025, Hindu shops were set on fire in the Khidderpore area of Kolkata. The party stated that these incidents clearly demonstrate that the Hindu community is constantly facing violence and insecurity.
In the post, the BJP alleged that Hindus in Bangladesh are receiving no protection from radical mobs and that attacks on Hindus there are being carried out simply because they adhere to their traditional faith. The party also stated that reports of such incidents are constantly emerging.
The BJP also criticized the West Bengal state government regarding the situation in the state, saying that the state has failed to become a safe haven for Hindus, as envisioned by Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee. The party alleged that the Hindu community in the state feels marginalized due to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's politics of appeasement.
However, there has been no official response to these allegations from the Trinamool Congress or the Bangladeshi administration till the time of filing this report.
