Hooghly, 19 January (H.S.): Politics in West Bengal is once again completely immersed in election fervor. On one hand, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) is intensifying its door-to-door outreach campaign through ‘Unnayaner Panchali’ to inform the public about the government's achievements, while on the other hand, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is also putting all its might into garnering public support through rallies and public meetings.

Under the ‘Unnayaner Panchali’ campaign, the Trinamool Congress conducted extensive public outreach in Serampore and Rishra in Hooghly district on Monday.

In Ward No. 23 of Serampore Municipality, led by Rishra Municipality Chairman and popular Trinamool Congress leader Vijay Sagar Mishra, party workers went door-to-door and informed people about the development work done by the Trinamool government. He appealed to people to vote in favour of the Trinamool Congress.

Those prominently present in this campaign included Rishra Municipality Vice Chairman Zahid Hasan Khan, Serampore-Uttarpara Panchayat Samiti Vice President Indranath Chakraborty, Rishra Municipality Councillor and Rishra City Trinamool Mahila Congress President Jhumpa Das Sarkar, Serampore-Uttarpara Block INTUC President Raju Gorai, and local councillor Tapas Mitra and Shanta Ganguly.

Similarly, public outreach was also conducted in Rishra Municipality Ward No. 18 under the ‘Unnayaner Panchali’ campaign. This programme was led by local councillor Sukh Sagar Mishra alias Tiku. Present on the occasion were the current MLA of Serampore, Dr. Sudipto Roy, Serampore Municipality Chairman Giridhari Saha, Hooghly Zilla Parishad member Priyanka Dey, and Serampore-Uttarpara Block Trinamool Mahila Congress President Tumpa Mete. Trinamool leaders claimed that the state government's welfare schemes and development projects have directly benefited the common people, and Unnayaner Panchali (the development narrative) is a true reflection of this progress.

On the other hand, the BJP is not far behind. The party leadership is actively organizing large-scale rallies and meetings to strengthen its political foothold in the state. The heightened activity of both major parties clearly indicates that the political contest in West Bengal is intensifying day by day.
