CM Stalin Launches Aavin Projects And Inducts Transgender Home Guards

Chennai, 13 January (H.S.) : Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu MK Stalin on Tuesday inaugurated eight major projects for the state owned dairy cooperative Aavin, valued at 8062 crore. During a ceremony held at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister also handed over appointment orders to 50 transgender persons who have been inducted into the Tamil Nadu Home Guards.

This initiative follows a pilot project announced in the 2025 26 state budget aimed at promoting dignity and equal employment opportunities for the transgender community. The newly inducted members will assist the police in essential duties such as traffic management and crowd control across various districts including Chennai, Tambaram, and Madurai.

The infrastructure push included the inauguration of a cattle feed manufacturing plant at Pudukkudi in Thanjavur district, built at a cost of 5000 crore under the NABARD fund. Additionally, a silage fodder block unit was established in Erode to ensure the year round availability of green fodder.

Other inaugurated facilities include an ice cream manufacturing unit and fermented milk products plant in Tiruchi, along with several microbiology laboratories in districts like Coimbatore and Cuddalore. Authorities stated that these projects are designed to meet the rising consumer demand for dairy products while ensuring stringent quality control through modern lab testing.

In another significant development, CM Stalin presented an appointment order to the 300000th beneficiary of the state’s mega private sector employment programme. Since 2021, the Labour Welfare and Skill Development Department has conducted over 2000 job fairs, facilitating the placement of lakhs of job seekers.

The government remains committed to strengthening the socio economic status of the people by integrating marginalized communities into mainstream public service and expanding the state's industrial and agricultural infrastructure to generate more livelihoods.
