Bhubaneswar, 13 January (H.S.): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has intensified its investigation into the alleged scam in the Odisha Police Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment examination, with a fresh round of questioning of aspirants underway.
On Tuesday, several candidates appeared before the agency to record their statements, as investigators seek to gather first-hand accounts and determine the scale of irregularities in the recruitment process. The questioning is aimed at reconstructing the modus operandi of the alleged scam and identifying all individuals involved.
On Monday, the CBI had already examined 10 aspirants as part of the ongoing probe.
Sources said the agency has issued notices to around 150 aspirants, directing them to appear before investigators in a phased manner. Officials are collecting detailed information from the candidates, and their statements are expected to play a crucial role in shaping the future course of the investigation.
According to sources, several of the aspirants summoned by the CBI are suspected to have been linked to the alleged ‘deal’ that is at the centre of the recruitment scam.
The probe continues as the agency works to unravel the network behind the irregularities and establish accountability in the high-profile recruitment case.
