Chennai, 12 January (H.S.) : The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam chief and prominent actor Vijay appeared before the Central Bureau of Investigation for questioning on Monday in connection with the tragic Karur stampede case.

According to Actor Vijay Fans' repost on X, TVK Chief and actor Vijay reaches Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) office in Delhi to appear before the agency for a probe into the Karur stampede.

The Tamil superstar arrived at the agency headquarters in the national capital where he was escorted to the specific team investigating the incident.

This probe pertains to a devastating stampede that occurred during a political rally addressed by the leader on September 27 last year in Karur, Tamil Nadu.

The unfortunate event resulted in the loss of 41 lives and left more than 60 individuals with various injuries.

According to official statements Vijay, several office bearers of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam have already been questioned in relation to the ongoing investigation.

The Central Bureau of Investigation took over the case from a Special Investigation Team following a specific order from the Supreme Court.

Authorities stated that the federal agency has been diligently gathering evidence to determine the circumstances leading to the tragedy.

Officials further mentioned that the agency might take a final call on filing a formal chargesheet in the matter after carefully examining the responses provided by Vijay during his questioning session on Monday.

The actor turned politician has cooperated with the federal investigators as they seek to establish accountability for the crowd management failures at the rally site.

This appearance marks a significant development in the high profile case that has drawn national attention.
