Traffic Restrictions Announced in Guwahati for FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour, Coke Studio Bharat Concert on 13th


Guwahati, 12 January (HS): The Guwahati Traffic Police have announced extensive traffic regulations in view of the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour followed by the Coke Studio Bharat Concert scheduled to be held on January 13 at the ACA Stadium, Barsapara. The restrictions have been imposed to ensure public safety, smooth traffic flow, and unhindered movement of emergency vehicles.

According to a press statement issued by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Guwahati, the movement of commercial goods vehicles and slow-moving vehicles will be restricted on several major roads, including B.K. Kakati Road, A.K. Azad Road, A.K. Dev Road, Kula Basumatary Road (Barsapara Stadium Road), Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Path, Mora Bharalu Road, Rajiv Gandhi Path (up to Jyotikuchi), F.A. Road, Dhopoliya Road, Bishnupur Road, R.K.C. Road, Birubari-GMC Road, and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Road, from 11 am to 12 midnight.

On the day of the event, A.K. Azad Road will function as a one-way route from Lalganesh Tiniali towards Cycle Factory Tiniali from 11 am onwards. Vehicles without car passes coming from Lokhra Chariali towards Arya Nagar will be diverted at Lalganesh Tiniali towards Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Road via Hayat Hospital.

Kula Basumatary Road (Barsapara Road) will also be one-way from Barsapara Tiniali to Dhirenpara Tiniali from 11 am onwards, and only vehicles with valid car passes will be allowed. Vehicles with drop-off passes will be permitted to drop passengers either ahead of Barsapara Tiniali or at Dhirenpara Tiniali before proceeding to designated parking locations.

Vehicular movement will be completely restricted on Mora Bharalu Road, while on Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Path, traffic will be allowed only from the NH-27 side up to Shyam Mandir, after which vehicles will be diverted towards Ganeshpara Tiniali via A.K. Dev Road and Banabasu Road. No vehicle will be allowed to approach ACA Stadium via Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Path.

The police have also prohibited parking on both sides of key stretches, including Barsapara Tiniali to Dhirenpara Tiniali, Cycle Factory to Lalganesh Tiniali, and Ambari Tiniali to Champabati High School. Limited one-side parallel parking will be allowed on selected stretches of A.K. Dev Road and Kanaklata Path.

Vehicles with VIP passes entering the stadium through Gate No. 1B will not be permitted to exit until the completion of the event. After the event, vehicles parked inside the ACA Stadium will be allowed to exit via designated routes towards Dhirenpara or Barsapara Tiniali, with further dispersal towards Birubari, Lalganesh, Garchuk, or Fatasil Ambari as permitted by traffic personnel.

The traffic police have appealed to the public to cooperate, follow traffic advisories, and plan their travel accordingly to avoid inconvenience during the event.
