Chennai, 12 January (H.S.) : The Pattali Makkal Katchi founder Dr S RAMADOSS has officially announced the expulsion of three party legislators for their continued involvement in anti party activities.
The announcement was made through a statement issued by the PMK General Secretary Murali SHANKAR on Monday. According to the party leadership, the expelled members include the Mayilam MLA S SIVAKUMAR, the Mettur MLA S SADASIVAM, and the Dharmapuri MLA SP VENKATESWARAN.
These individuals had been previously placed under temporary suspension but have now been removed from their primary membership and all party positions effective immediately.
The decision follows a period of internal friction within the PMK involving a faction supporting Anbumani RAMADOSS. Murali SHANKAR stated that the disciplinary action committee had sought explanations from the concerned legislators regarding their conduct as early as July 2025.
However, the leadership noted that no responses were received through written communication or personal meetings. Authorities within the party emphasized that the legislators continued to engage in activities detrimental to the organizational interests despite the formal notices.
In light of these developments, the party has strictly instructed all its members to refrain from maintaining any official contact with the expelled legislators. This move highlights a deepening divide within the political organization as the leadership seeks to consolidate its authority and maintain discipline among its rank and file members.
The expulsion marks a significant escalation in the ongoing internal conflict between the two factions of the regional party.
