New Delhi/Ahmedabad, 12 January (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will host German Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz on Monday for a series of high-profile engagements in Ahmedabad, marking the Chancellor's inaugural official visit to India. Invited by PM Modi, the two-day trip from January 12-13 underscores the deepening India-Germany Strategic Partnership, which recently celebrated its 25th anniversary.

Cultural Engagements Set Morning Agenda

The leaders' day commences at approximately 9:30 AM with a joint visit to the iconic Sabarmati Ashram, a symbol of Mahatma Gandhi's legacy in India's freedom struggle. At around 10:00 AM, they will participate in the vibrant International Kite Festival along the Sabarmati Riverfront, blending cultural exchange with traditional festivities.

Bilateral Talks Focus on Key Sectors

From 11:15 AM onwards, delegation-level discussions at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar will review progress in trade, investment, technology, education, skilling, mobility, defence, security, science, innovation, green development, and people-to-people connections. The agenda also encompasses regional and global issues, alongside interactions with business leaders from both nations.
