12 Jan (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief
Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister Jitin Prasada along with Deputy
Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak and Minister of State Ajit Pal on Monday
inaugurated the two-day Uttar Pradesh AI and Health Innovation Summit 2026. Speaking
on the occasion, Union Minister of State for IT and Electronics Jitin Prasada
said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has
become the world's fourth largest economy. Furthermore, India has reached the
top spot in AI penetration. Mobile connections have surpassed 1 billion.
The
Union Minister of State stated that India is poised to become the world's
leading AI service provider. India will be recognized globally, and Uttar
Pradesh will play a significant role in this endeavor. Internet coverage has
been established throughout Uttar Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh has made significant
progress in the field of AI. However, there are numerous challenges, including
cyber threats and deep fakes. The Union Minister emphasized that the people of
rural India should benefit from this. AI is being used in the fields of
agriculture, health, education, and the environment.
On
this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary of Medical Health and Medical
Education Department Amit Kumar Ghosh, Principal Secretary of IT and
Electronics Department Anurag Yadav, Chief Minister's Advisor Avnish Awasthi,
experts from NITI Aayog, National Health Authority, Union Ministry of
Electronics and Information Technology, World Health Organization (WHO), World
Bank, Gates Foundation, Google and experts from AI and health sector from India
and abroad were present in the conference.
