Somnath, Gujarat , 11 January (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted an elaborate puja and rituals with full Vedic rites at the first Jyotirlinga, Somnath Mahadev Temple, on Sunday morning, culminating in a profound Rudrabhishek ceremony where he fervently prayed for the welfare of the nation.

Representatives from India's 12 revered Jyotirlingas chanted sacred Vedic mantras during the ritual, enveloping the sanctum in an atmosphere of divine resonance. After participating in the approximately 40-minute worship, Modi emerged to engage with ongoing cultural programs in the temple courtyard, expressing heartfelt gratitude to all performers and attendees.

Earlier, PM Modi had shared a video of Saturday's events on his X handle, reflecting on Somnath's timeless divinity: Somnath stands as an eternal beacon of divine luminescence, its sacred presence guiding generations through the ages. Glimpses from yesterday's programs are presented here, including the chanting of the Omkar mantra and the mesmerizing drone show.

Prior to the Rudrabhishek, Prime Minister Modi joined the magnificent roadshow under the 'Somnath Swabhiman Parv' celebrations—a resplendent Shourya Yatra featuring 108 majestic horses, where folk artists from distant regions accorded him a regal welcome.

This procession, a vivid testament to India's valor, traditions, and cultural splendor, inscribed a memorable chapter in Somnath's storied legacy. Following the event, Modi is scheduled to address a public rally, further amplifying the festive spirit.

PM Modi's Gujarat itinerary unfolds methodically on this second day of his visit. He will depart Somnath for Rajkot at 12:45 p.m., inaugurating the Saurashtra-Kutch Vibrant Summit at Marwadi University to bolster regional economic momentum.

Subsequently, he proceeds to Ahmedabad by air, then travels by road to Gandhinagar. There, at 5:15 p.m., he will unveil the Mahatma Gandhi Metro Station, advancing urban infrastructure, before retiring at Raj Bhavan for the evening.

The confluence of spiritual reverence and national pride at Somnath underscores Modi's vision of cultural revival, drawing massive crowds and reinforcing the temple's role as a symbol of resilience. From ancient invasions to modern reconstruction, Somnath's journey mirrors India's unyielding ethos, making Modi's participation a pivotal moment in contemporary heritage celebrations.Security remains airtight, ensuring seamless proceedings amid the jubilant multitudes.
