Hardoi,
02 Sept (HS): A lady in Uttar Pradesh's Hardoi district recognized her missing
husband in an Instagram video, prompting his arrest for allegedly abandoning
her for last eight years and marrying another woman, police said Tuesday.
Police
claimed the accused, Jitendra alias Bablu, had abandoned his pregnant wife,
Sheelu, in 2018 and was now residing in Ludhiana, Punjab, where he reportedly
remarried. Sheelu, a Murarnagar resident in the Sandila region, discovered the
case after seeing her husband in a video on Instagram. She approached police, who initiated an
inquiry that confirmed his name and whereabouts, according to officials.
In
2018, Jitendra, a resident of Atamau village, was reported missing by his
father. At the time, the family
suspected Sheelu's relatives of wrongdoing. A police squad lead by
Sub-Inspector Rajanikant Pandey apprehended the Ludhiana resident. According to a senior officer, he has been
booked in response to Sheelu's accusation. The culprit is being questioned, and
additional legal action is proceeding, Circle Officer Santosh Kumar Singh said.
Sheelu
stated that she quickly recognized Jitendra in the videos. She added that he was still alive, living in
Ludhiana, and performing in videos with another woman, whom he had supposedly
married. She also alleged that his
relatives kept the truth from her and falsely accused her family of being
complicit in his abduction.
His
family had filed a FIR, which I was unaware of, as were my relatives. Now, I've discovered through reels that he
lives in Ludhiana, makes reels with another lady, and has even married her,
Sheelu said. Assistant Superintendent of
Police Nripendra Kumar stated that they were married. One year after the wedding, he departed the
house without alerting anybody, and a FIR was filed at the police station.
