02 Sept (HS): The Uttar Pradesh government has authorized the establishment of

948 positions at three newly founded state institutions to help them function

better, officials said on Tuesday. These include Guru Jambheshwar University in

Moradabad, Maa Vindhyavasini University in Mirzapur, and Maa Pateshwari

University in Balrampur. The new roles include 468 temporary non-teaching

positions that will last until February 28, 2026, as well as 480 postings that

will be filled through outsourcing. The government stated that the action

sought to boost administrative and functional operations at these universities,

improve academic quality, and provide job opportunities for youngsters.

Yogendra

Upadhyay, State Higher Education Minister, stated that Uttar Pradesh is

creating new standards in higher education under the leadership of Chief

Minister Yogi Adityanath. In a

statement, he stated that this is a significant step in strengthening colleges

and establishing the state as an educational leader.

The

officials stated that each university will have 156 non-teaching positions,

including pharmacists, electricians, junior engineers, stenos, assistant

accountants, junior assistants, lab technicians, lab assistants, deputy

registrars, assistant registrars, personal assistants, accountants, chief

assistants, medical officers, and staff nurses. They noted that recruitment

will take place through the Subordinate Services Selection Commission, direct

hiring, promotions, and deputations. Additionally, 160 positions at each

university will be filled by outsourcing, including computer operators,

sanitation workers, security guards, gardeners, peons, drivers, and library

attendants. To guarantee fairness and transparency, the outsourcing will take

place through the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) platform, and all appointments

would adhere to reservation criteria and departmental guidelines, according to

the government.
