BJP Brass to Meet TN Leaders on September-3

Chennai, 2 September (H.S.) : The BJP high command has convened a crucial strategy session in New Delhi on September 3 to address alliance uncertainties and simmering factionalism within the Tamil Nadu unit. Ten senior leaders from Tamil Nadu have been summoned to the capital for the deliberations. This meeting aims to caution state leaders against infighting and urge them to act in unison.

The discussions will center on finalizing seat-sharing contours with allies, identifying winnable constituencies, and appointing constituency-level coordinators. The BJP's alliance with AIADMK is struggling to expand its base, and erstwhile partners like PMK, DMDK, AMMK, and O Panneerselvam are keeping their cards close to their chest. State BJP president Nainar Nagendran will likely be part of these crucial discussions.

Tensions between Annamalai and sections of the state leadership have been evidentiary, with AIADMK chief Edappadi K Palaniswami reportedly demanding Annamalai's removal as state president during a recent meeting with Amit Shah. The meeting on September 3 may provide insight into the future of Annamalai's role within the party.

The BJP's state unit is gearing up for crucial elections, and this meeting will likely play a significant role in shaping the party's strategy and leadership in Tamil Nadu.
