Gorakhpur,
02 Sept (HS): A guy was detained in Gorakhpur's Pipraich locality on Tuesday
after reportedly throwing chunks of meat at ladies during a Hanuman temple
devotional ritual, according to police. The event occurred on Monday evening at
the Sankat Mochan Hanuman temple near Pipraich Railway Station. Police claimed Umesh Yadav, 35, reportedly
tossed meat chunks at ladies during 'aarti', sparking fear among worshipers.
Locals
apprehended Yadav, beat him up, and turned him over to police. Officers stated that Yadav seemed to be
inebriated. Umesh is modifying his statements.
He once claimed that a local meat trader had urged him to do so,
according to Chauri Chaura Circle Officer Anurag Singh, who examined the spot.
Later,
a throng gathered outside the police station, demanding the arrest of the
remaining accused accomplices. The
gathering was calmed down by police, who assured them that action would be
taken. Officials claimed Yadav had lately returned from Hyderabad, where he was
painting and dyeing.
