Delhi/Mysuru, September 2(HS) — The Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, graced the prestigious diamond jubilee celebrations of the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH) in Mysuru, Karnataka. The event, held yesterday, was marked by the presence of esteemed dignitaries including Shri Thawar Chand Gehlot, Governor of Karnataka, Shri Siddaramaiah, Chief Minister of Karnataka, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Smt. Anupriya Patel, Karnataka Health Minister Shri Dinesh Gundu Rao, and MP Sri Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar.

In her heartfelt address, President Murmu lauded AIISH’s outstanding contributions to education, medical research, and clinical services in the field of speech and hearing. She extended her sincere congratulations to the institute’s former and current directors, faculty, administrators, and students for their dedicated efforts in advancing diagnosis and treatment of communication disorders.

Established in 1965 under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, AIISH stands as a premier institution across South Asia for human resource development, clinical care, training, research, and public education related to communication disorders. The institute offers a comprehensive range of academic programs and rehabilitation services, earning recognition as a center of excellence in the South East Asia region.

The celebration was further enriched by the presence of Additional Secretary MoHFW Ms. V. Hekali Zhimomi, senior government officials, faculty, and students of AIISH, underscoring the institute’s pivotal role in empowering those affected by communication challenges
