02 Sept (HS): The government has taken cognizance of the lathicharge by the

police at the behest of the university administration on the peaceful agitation

being carried out by ABVP in Shri Ram Swarup Memorial University, Barabanki.

Instructions

issued by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath: - Expressing

displeasure over the action taken against the students, orders were given to

remove the concerned CO. - Instructions to Divisional Commissioner Ayodhya to

investigate the validity of the university degrees and submit the report by

this evening. - Orders for the lathicharge incident to be investigated by IG

Ayodhya Range.If

the problem of the students is not resolved even after investigation, then the

workers of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad will be forced to launch a fierce

agitation against it.

Yogi Adityanath has taken cognizance of the incident of lathi charge by the

police on LLB students of Ram Swaroop University in Barabanki, UP. He has

expressed strong displeasure over this action of the police. He has given

instructions to remove CO City Harshit Chauhan. The investigation of the lathi

charge incident has been handed over to IG Range Ayodhya Praveen Kumar.

Apart

from this, SHO RK Rana and outpost in-charge have been put on line duty. CO has

been attached to SP office. Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad workers injured

in lathi charge were sent back home after getting treatment at district

hospital. Also, divisional commissioner Ayodhya has been ordered to investigate

the validity of Ram Swaroop University degree. CM has asked for a report by

this evening.

On

Monday, students' anger erupted over the courses being run without recognition

at Ram Swaroop University in Gadiya. The angry students, along with ABVP

activists, created a ruckus. Due to the sit-in protests and ruckus that started

in the morning, there was chaos in the campus throughout the day. When the

students closed the college gate in the afternoon, they clashed with the people

of the institute's management. During this time, the police present there,

seeing the situation going out of control, started chasing the students with

lathis. Angered by this, some students pelted stones at the Gadiya police

station and broke glass etc., then the police started chasing and beating the

students. About 24 people were injured in this. Eight of them have been

admitted to the hospital.

ABVP

workers also reached in support of the students: The students allege that

despite not having the recognition from the Bar Council of India, classes are

being conducted here by taking admissions illegally in LLB, and BA LLB. The

students here have been agitating on this issue for the past several days. On

Monday morning, the students reached the university campus and were protesting.

Meanwhile, some ABVP workers from Lucknow and nearby districts also reached in

support.

has been claimed that about 24 students including Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi

Parishad's state co-minister Abhishek Bajpai, district coordinator Anurag

Mishra, Abhay Shankar Pandey, Ankit Pandey, Naveen, Arpit Shukla, Ashutosh Rai,

Pratyush Pandey, Ankur Awasthi, Siddharth Tiwari, Vidit Pratap Singh, Yogesh

Singh, Pushpendra Bajpai, Abhay Shukla were injured by the lathi charge used by

the police to disperse the students. Of these, six were admitted to Mayo

Hospital and two to the district hospital after being seriously injured. The

students have accused CO City Harshit Chauhan of ordering the lathi charge.

Demonstration

done in front of DM residence: On the other hand, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi

Parishad workers protested in front of the DM's residence at around 10:30 pm on

Monday night against the police using force on the peacefully protesting

students. The angry workers raised slogans against the police and demanded

action against the police personnel who resorted to lathicharge.
