02 Sept (HS): Two persons were killed and two injured after a jeep plunged into
a deep ditch filled with water in an attempt to save a motorcycle near the
Uttaraula-Bahraich bypass here, police said on Tuesday.

Additional Superintendent of Police, stated that Tularam, a native of Bayabhit
village in the Sriduttganj region, was being transported to Bahraich for
treatment by his family in a Bolero vehicle. In an attempt to save a
motorcyclist near Narkatiya hamlet, the jeep driver lost control and toppled in
a deep ditch filled with water on the side of the road. When the police
received information about the event, they and the SSB team went to the scene.
The
victims were rescued from the water and sent to a hospital, where Premadevi
(40) and Sitaram (60) died while receiving treatment, while Tularam is being
treated in Bahraich, according to authorities. The corpses of the dead have
been transferred for post-mortem examination, police said.
