Lucknow,
02 Sept (HS): Operation Kayakalp and Project Alankar, directed by Uttar Pradesh
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, have altered council and secondary schools
across the state, giving them new identities, according to an official
statement released on Tuesday. Operation Kayakalp, which began in 2018, intends
to modernize, secure, and equip council schools.
This
effort resulted in the development of 97% of basic educational facilities. Previously, many schools lacked bathrooms,
water, power, and furniture, but they have been transformed into contemporary
institutions with gated perimeter walls, tiled toilets, painted premises, and
solar lighting, according to the statement. The NITI Aayog has recognized
Operation Kayakalp as a model effort for the whole country. Similarly, the
Department of Secondary Education developed Project Alankar, which mapped 2,295
schools based on 27 characteristics to enhance their infrastructure.
To
improve secondary education, these schools have been refurbished with smart
classes, computer labs, Wi-Fi, laboratories, libraries, and modern furniture,
according to the statement.
Aside
from academics, pupils benefit from playgrounds, open gyms, multipurpose halls,
art and craft rooms, and vocational training facilities. The core infrastructure has been improved
with main and staff quarters, boundary walls, office spaces, cycling stands,
and drinking water amenities. Fire safety equipment, CCTV monitoring, biometric
attendance, rainwater collection, and solar panels were installed with the goal
of ensuring sustainability and safety.
Operation
Kayakalp and Project Alankar have given Uttar Pradesh's government schools a
new identity, transforming them into contemporary, inclusive, and future-ready
institutions, according to the statement.
