New Delhi, September 2(HS): A total of 1,546 cadets, including 867 boys and 679 girls from 17 NCC Directorates across all States and Union Territories, have gathered at Cariappa Parade Ground, Delhi Cantt, to participate in the twelve-day All India Thal Sainik Camp (AITSC) 2025. The camp, inaugurated by Additional Director General (A) Air Vice Marshal PVS Narayana on September 2, aims to provide cadets with extensive exposure to Army training and foster leadership, discipline, and national integration.

The cadets will compete in a diverse range of challenges such as Obstacle Training, Map Reading, Firing Competitions, Field Craft, Battle Craft, Tent Pitching, and various Institutional Training Competitions. These activities are designed to test and enhance their physical endurance, mental acuity, teamwork, and overall character development. This prestigious National-level camp exclusively trains Army Wing cadets, focusing on comprehensive military preparedness and personal growth.

Highlighting the significance of NCC, Air Vice Marshal PVS Narayana emphasized that NCC offers the youth a life full of adventure, discipline, and honor. He underscored the NCC's role in inculcating leadership, camaraderie, and confidence, preparing cadets to face life’s challenges successfully. The camp not only promotes a healthy competitive spirit but also serves as a platform for fostering unity and patriotism among young Indians.

The Thal Sainik Camp selection process includes rigorous pre-camp competitions and training to ensure only the best cadets from all 17 Directorates participate, representing a diverse and talented pool of youth from across the country. The camp is recognized as one of the most elite NCC training events, paving the way for cadets to develop essential life skills and build a strong foundation for future endeavors in the armed forces and beyond.

The twelve-day event holds special importance in the NCC calendar, with the focus on physical fitness, tactical skills, leadership, and teamwork—values integral to the ethos of the Indian Army and NCC. The cadets’ participation in varied competitive events promises an enriching experience that blends military training with character-building activities.
