Guwahati, 01 September (HS): The Yoga Vikas Kendra, a unit of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), celebrated its 4th foundation day at the Surdarshanalaya auditorium here with great enthusiasm.

Inaugurating the program, Assam Prant Pracharak of RSS, Bashistha Buzarbaruah, stressed the role of yoga in shaping individuals into “Nar Narayan” by enhancing their physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

Delivering the keynote address, Yogacharya Shubhashish Kar, founder president of the Indian Yoga Culture and Yoga Therapy Center, underlined the scientific basis of yoga and revealed that Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has plans to establish a Yoga University in Assam.

The day’s program featured a yoga competition, followed by distribution of prizes to winners. More than 100 yoga trainees participated in the event and were inspired by the deliberations on the significance of yoga.

The function was conducted by Rameswar Thakuria, with participants expressing gratitude to RSS for providing platforms and facilities for yoga practice through the Yoga Vikas Kendra.--------
