Chennai, 1 September (H.S.) : Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has called upon the Tamil diaspora in Germany to invest in their homeland and preserve their cultural roots. Highlighting the Roots to Heritage initiative, Stalin emphasized the importance of reconnecting with Tamil Nadu's rich cultural heritage. This initiative, started in 2023, brings children of diaspora families to Tamil Nadu to reconnect with their roots.

The Chief Minister's appeal is part of the state's efforts to leverage the diaspora's potential for investment and cultural exchange. Stalin has been actively engaging with the Tamil diaspora globally, encouraging them to contribute to the state's growth. He has launched initiatives like the 'Vergalai Thedi Thittam' for cultural tours, which enables overseas Tamils to stay in touch with their heritage.

Stalin emphasized that the Tamil diaspora has contributed significantly to the growth of their adopted countries. He urged them to maintain their connection with their homeland, citing the Tamil language as the umbilical cord linking all Tamils worldwide. The Chief Minister's efforts aim to foster a sense of community and shared identity among Tamils globally.

The Tamil Nadu government has taken concrete steps to facilitate investment and collaboration. The Commissionerate of Welfare and Rehabilitation of Tamil Nadu Non-resident Tamils addresses the immediate needs of the diaspora. Additionally, the state has launched an angel fund to support startups, reflecting its commitment to creating a conducive business environment.

By reaching out to the Tamil diaspora, Stalin's government seeks to tap into their potential for economic growth, cultural exchange, and technological advancement. This engagement is expected to benefit both the state and the diaspora, fostering a mutually beneficial relationship.
