01 Sept (HS): The Shikohabad police team arrested the satta mafia accused Sameer

in an encounter late Sunday night. The accused who was injured after being shot

in the leg has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. CO Shikohabad

Praveen Tiwari said that on 25 August, the police team of Shikohabad police

station received information that gambling was going on at the rented house of

Shakeel Master son of Abdul Khaliq alias Khaliq in village Ruknpura. The police

conducted a raid and arrested 04 accused Monu alias Atiq, Shadab, Faijan and

Shahzad from the spot. Their other companions fled from the spot. On the night

of 25 August, the police arrested the wanted accused Naeem in an encounter.

He

informed that Police Station Incharge Shikohabad Anuj Kumar was patrolling the

area with the police team on Sunday late night when based on information the

wanted Satta Mafia accused Samir son of Shakeel Master resident of Mohalla

Ruknpura Police Station Shikohabad was arrested in an encounter near FS College

on Bhuda Canal track. In self-defense in the retaliatory fire of the police

team Satta Mafia accused Samir got injured by a bullet in his leg. 01 illegal

pistol, 01 live cartridge and empty cartridge were recovered from the

possession of the Satta Mafia. The CO said that the injured accused has been

sent to the hospital for treatment under police custody. Further legal action

is being taken.
