New Delhi, September 1(HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi today expressed profound sorrow over the tragic loss of lives caused by a powerful 6.0-magnitude earthquake that struck Afghanistan near the Pakistan border. The disaster has claimed over 800 lives and injured approximately 2,500 people, leaving communities in urgent need of relief.

In a heartfelt message posted on X, PM Modi conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and extended wishes for a swift recovery to the injured. He affirmed India’s readiness to provide all possible humanitarian aid and disaster relief to support those affected in this difficult hour.

“Deeply saddened by the loss of lives due to the earthquake in Afghanistan. Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families in this difficult hour, and we wish a speedy recovery to the injured. India stands ready to provide all possible humanitarian aid and relief to those effected,”the post reads.
