Sribhumi (Assam), 01 September (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday announced that more than 16,000 women from Patharkandi have received seed funding of ₹10,000 each under the Mukhya Mantri Mahila Udyomita Abhiyan. The initiative aims to empower women to step into entrepreneurship and play a key role in the holistic development of Barak Valley.
Dr Sarma stated that women are the driving force behind the state’s vision for inclusive growth. He further emphasized that the government has taken a pledge to support over 35 lakh women across Assam with financial aid of ₹85,000 each over a period of three years.
The scheme seeks to establish women as “Lakhpati Didis” by making them self-reliant and enabling them to uplift their families socially and economically.
