Kolkata, 1 September (H.S.): On the occasion of Police Day, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee extended her greetings to police personnel across the state and the country. Taking to social media, she lauded their relentless efforts in maintaining law and order and acknowledged their selfless service to society.
In her message, Banerjee wrote, “On this Police Day, we honour the heroes in uniform who stand strong to uphold law and order. Your courage, sacrifice and dedication ensure our safety and peace every day.”
She emphasized that the police force plays an indispensable role in safeguarding citizens through their commitment, valor, and discipline.
Police Day is observed annually to recognize and pay tribute to the services, sacrifices, and dedication of police forces. As per the official declaration, September 1 has been designated as Police Day in West Bengal, marked as an occasion to remember and honour the contributions of the state’s police personnel in upholding law, order, and community service.
